Advanced Applied Improvisation Workshop | 19 January 2024
This January 2024 professor Nancee Moes from the Alan Alda Center (Stony Brook University, New York) will visit the Netherlands and we are very excited that we could invite Nancee to host a workshop for us!
Topic
The communication gap between society and science grows bigger and bigger and at the same time the world needs science more than ever!
Good science, and trust in science helps individuals, policymakers and societies make better decisions.
Join us
… and discover:
why applied improvisation is a crucial method in helping (climate) scientists, politicians and directors to communicate and connect better
how you can use improvisation to help others with more engaging communication across backgrounds and experiences
why applied improvisation is the key method used at the Alan Alda Center for Science Communication
how you can start communicating better about your own business yourself
what you’ll get
Come experience some of what Alan Alda Center’s scientist participants do: you'll participate in a series of specifically designed improv exercises, and then look at how variations in facilitation and debriefing bring our different learning outcomes.
The Alda Method combines applied improvisational exercises and communication strategies to help people build interpersonal connections and trust across backgrounds, experiences, and expertise. This requires an ability to connect and engage, grounded in the processes of paying attention and engaging intellectually, emotionally, and/or physically with a set of ideas, practices, people, and/or questions.
